August 23,24,25,26,27,28 - 2024 British Columbia

1503 km traveled (we're in Canada now) 933 miles. As we travel through Canada we laugh when we use our Monopoly money! (yes, we love our Canadian friends) Gee, as we continue to enjoy every bit of scenery along our journey, we stumbled upon wine country. Oh darn. Guess where we've been hanging out for 4 days?

August 19, 20, 21, 22 - 2024 from Haines to Hyder, Alaska

These last days we have traveled 895 miles to an amazing little town called Hyder, Alaska with a  population of 12!  Their numbers may be small, but they pack a big punch!  Rick and a fellow traveler became Hyderized by the Glacier Inn.  It's a 151 proof mystery shot that you can not smell or taste prior, just throw your head back. Whew!  Hope you enjoy the images below as much as we did. This was our last town to visit in this magical state of ALASKA and it certainly did not disappoint!

August 16, 17, 18 - 2024 Haines, Alaska

385 travel miles before arriving in this beautiful town of Haines!  We splurged on a "real" campsite for 2 nights & took advantage of a shower two days in a row!  Oh the little things in life!

August 14th & 15th ...Traveling

454 miles traveled in the course of 2 days. Beautiful secluded boondock places to camp with bonus scenery along the way.  From the Alaska Mountain Range to viewing a gorgeous glacier.  We stopped and got up close and personal with the Alaskan Pipeline. The Aspen trees are changing colors - Oh no!

August 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 - 2024 Homer to Palmer

We've spent some time traveling in the rain and decided to just sit tight and sing the "Little Orphan Annie" song, "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow."  Sure enough, it appeared today and that allowed a stunning drive through Hatcher Pass.  More awesome Alaskan scenery with a bonus stop for Rick to pick wild blueberries.  Thinking of his mom, cuz I'm sure Connie did the same thing when she visited Alaska many years ago!

August 5,6,7,8 - 2024 Peterson Lake to Homer

Homer is the halibut fishing capital of the world!  So of course Rick went out on a charter and brought back 12.5 pounds of fish. (Two fish limit) A different kind of yummy!  Rain, rain, go away, Pam & Rick want to play!

August 1,2,3,4 - 2024 Just hanging Out

We left Palmer and headed to Peterson Lake.  Time for some more fishing and enjoying the beautiful 70 degrees sunshine.  Rick dug out the inflatable kayaks (thank you Wayne & Ellie) and we paddled around the lake.  So calm and pretty!  August is marching right along, but there is still more adventure ahead of us!

July 27 thru July 31, 2024

We said our goodbyes and dropped our crew at the Anchorage airport.  They all arrived safely home at their final destinations along with boxes of fish all in one piece!  Our Motor Home had a spa day in Anchorage as it was time for an oil change the front end needed aligned because of worn out cambers. Rick & I traveled to Palmer for three days of regrouping.  Settling back into a two person motor home, cleaning, buying groceries, getting haircuts and just chill-ax-ing.  There may have been a glass of beer involved also. :)  It's hard to believe that August has arrived.  Occasionally we will mention our travels east, but quickly say, "Oh let's not talk about that right now."
