July 24, 25, 26-2024

We had a long travel day between Valdez and Seward, but the time passes quickly in the breathtaking 49th State!  We found ourselves sea kayaking in Resurrection Bay in Seward.  Some curious sea otters swam pretty close to check us out and a harbor seal passed by too.  What fun!  The final day highlight was a salmon fishing charter out of Sterling.  The Kozack's were in one boat and the three Zack's in the other.  It was a wet drizzly day, but that did not stop the fish!  We each got our limit of 6 fish.  That's 100 pounds of meat in case you were wondering!  The campgrounds had the facilities to allow us to cut, vacuum seal and freeze our fish until we left the following day.  Corey and Rita checked two 50 pound fish boxes as luggage and will keep them in their freezer until we return to Ohio.  So if any of you are near Wadsworth, stop over and they'll share a package with you!  After our fresh salmon dinner over the fire, (thank you Rick) we sat around the campfire reminiscing over the past two weeks.  We covered a lot of miles, and created some awesome memories, never to be erased from our minds!

July 23, 2024 - Valdez

The bull sea lions were hanging out at the hatchery in Valdez, feasting on salmon.  So cool.  Our glacier & wildlife cruise was amazing!  So much wildlife and around the bend came the magnificent Mears Glacier in all its splendor.  We are crossing off our bingo cards and are only missing a swimming moose that will be worth double points!

July 20, 2024 Fairbanks and North Pole

We enjoyed being tourists for a day along with viewing the gorgeous Alaskan Mountain Range on a beautiful sunny day.  We had to stop at the North Pole to see whose name was on the naughty and nice list!

Denali National Park and Preserve

We spent 3 days enjoying every minute of the amazing park of Denali.  From a 4.8 mile hike with 1500 feet elevation gain on the Savage Alpine Trail to a bus tour with amazing wildlife spotting, to a walk along a braided river, to a ranger lead hike.  We're excited to share a glimpse of the memories forever embedded in our minds!
